Kristin Keane writes often about memory, looking, and reading. She’s the author of An Encyclopedia of Bending Time and Luminaries, and has been a contributor to The Believer, The Washington Post, Creative Nonfiction, Catapult, New England Review, Double Feature (a book about the vernacular images of artist Patrick Pound), and other outlets. She’s the co-editor of an academic text about the teaching of reading, forthcoming from Guilford Press in 2026. She’s a research scientist at Stanford University where she earned a PhD.
